Re: Wheel cover for spare on bonnet

I noted that some people have a spare wheel cover on their bonnet and its the same or similar colour green to their vehicles. Can anyone point me in the right direction where I can get one please? I have searched eBay and the rest of the usual suspects and they all seem to be cheap black plastic or...

Re: Missing parts for IIA rebuild

Fred, you couldn't give me the dimensions of that support bracket could you ? I looked in the IIA manual, whilst it is drawn and the fixings mentioned in the parts list, the bracket itself isn't! There is no mention of it in the Series III parts manual. Looks like I will need to make one... Again f...

Re: 15FM83

Technical advise please guys. If I depress the yellow knob and move the red lever into high range the yellow knob stays down and the front axle is engaged, put the red lever into neutral, yellow knob comes up, therefore disengages the front axle, all fine so far, now depress the yellow knob and eng...

Re: FREE Series hardtop

Hi Kevin, That's very generous. I don't need one for mine as I'd have to get another windscreen without the sharkstooth rail. I was very pleased to bump into you the other day and glad I was in the Lightweight. And it's time you got on to your next Lightweight. I know you're busy but, this is import...

Re: Missing parts for IIA rebuild

Oh good grief... (I think I'm losing it anyway as I can't even manage to follow this thread properly - I see Mark had already given the part No for the whale in his post above. Oh well! I'm hungry - that must be it!

A couple of useful-looking engines on eBay

A couple of useful engines just appeared on eBay - one in Musselburgh, the other in Cheltenham https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/land-rover-series-3-ex-military-2-25-petrol-engine-air-portable-lightweight/302923332854?hash=item4687a33cf6:g:FgoAAOSwQDdbnnfG:rk:14:pf:0 https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/5bwAAOSw...

Re: Help identify part

Exploded view courtesy of the internet Ian mate :D Neil pipped Bob to the post, but credit to both of them for having that stuff in their heads. ...celebratory Battenberg anyone? Sorry, I ought to have credited Bob as well - all good stuff (so is Battenburg, but, according to my wife, I'm on a diet...

Re: Missing parts for IIA rebuild

I've just had a look through the IPC and the optional parts catalogue. The standard set up for the Series 3 2 1/4 petrol Land Rover is part no: 551714 with the shroud being 577342. There's nothing in the Lightweight specific IPC, so that suggests they use the same as a standard one. There is an opti...

Re: Help identify part

I don't remember seeing anything like them when I stripped my lightweight down. My money, whilst we are on random guesses, is that they are P/No 336358, which is a nut plate for a 109 FFR radio battery frame, and nothing at all to do with a lightweight. But what do I know? I've never owned a 109 FF...
