Many thanks FredFred wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:40 pmWell, from looking at the B Card I reckon you have the following:
The vehicle 55GF87 was a 12volt general service Lightweight from contract no WV11733. It was painted gloss deep bronze green (colour code 72) BS381C 224 at the factory. It was accepted into service at the Vehicle Depot, Hilton (DIS) in January 1976 and processed there during January and February (ADPCON).
In August 1976 it was sent, probably via the military port at Marchwood, to the vehicle stores depot (VSD) at Moenchengladbach from where it was issued, in February 1977, to 1 (British) Corps Vehicle Company (1BR CVC) based at Recklinghausen. It stayed there until December 1979 when it was transferred to the 1st Armoured Division Transport Regiment (1ADTR) at Dennis Barracks, Muensterlager. In January 1983 it went to the 4th Armoured Division Transport Regiment (4ADTR) at St George’s Barracks, Minden. They didn’t have it for long as it was then struck off strength at the Ordnance Depot, Viersen in August of that year. It would have been sold off locally, rather than being brought back to the UK as it was an LHD vehicle.
