25FM35 39FG14 27FK74 72FG56 Ruddington

I have been asked if I could find the Ruddington page for 25FM35, possibly sold on 10/2/80 or 7/3/80.

There were no Ruddington sales on those dates. 7/3/80 probably relates to the date it was Struck Off Census, the sale date will usually be several months later.

25FM35 was sold on the first day of Sale No.164 Tuesday 20/5/80

I have posted the page on here as there were three others on that page with "cutaway wings" as the auctioneers called them, 39FG14, 27FK74, 72FG56 so I don't know if their owners are on here?

Is that a military issued mini?!

It was the Metro, Escort and Cavalier during my younger days in the forces.

I also remember Vauxhall Chevette in the early to mid 1980's although I can not remember if that replaced the Metro or the Escort in my unit.

I remember the Padre at Bordon in the late 80's having a black Metro. The welfare cars in Hameln in the early 90's were black Escorts. IIRC the CO's Staff Car at 35 ER during my time there was a Cavalier.

Oh those were the days, up to Ruddinngton, buy a couple of cars, take them back to garage, clean, service and repair, then sell them. sometimes small profit, other times better profit. Remember Morris Travellers and Saloons, lots of Cavaliers, Escorts and Minis. What fun.
