Hi Landylees, really enjoying the rebuild, you're doing a great job. Next time you need to fit the dampers, there is a relatively inexpensive tool you can buy that looks like a notched out socket. I used sash clamp (as I didn't have a big enough g-clamp) to compress the rubber bushes/washer, it's still a real faff but worth the investment. The bulkhead is coming along nicely, don't forget to fit the throttle linkage to the bulkhead before you refit the engine, I made that mistake.

Fitted the steering box and column, just need to connect the drop arm and fit the steering wheel.

Fitted the pre-assembled vent panel, now it is starting to look like a Land Rover.

Looks like Deep Bronze Green to me - it was the factory colour.

Having never seen a swatch of this colour with its name before I could only say 'its a nice shade of green'. Now I know what it is. Thanks Andy.

It is in fact deep bronze green BS381C 224. BS381C is the standard and 224 the paint code. I did have a spray can mixed up of the supposedly equivalent code from the RAL range, but I won't even bother going to the garage to get it since it is a much brighter green and doesn't match. I seem to remember that there were different shades of deep bronze green and one called bronze green i.e.no deep, but I can't find any reference to these. Paints4Trade only have a bronze green but can't be sure it is the same colour, someone on this forum has probably used it.

Limited progress today. I fitted the steering wheel and connected up most of the centre dash panel. I discovered that despite having a 2 speed wiper motor (I know this as I tested it manually when I rebuilt it) and the plug supporting it, my new wiring loom was missing the wire for the 2nd speed - will look tomorrow how I add this wire without ruining the look of the loom.

Question, whilst you have a 2 speed wiper motor, will you actually need to use the faster speed? I travelled back from W&P in the pouring rain and only ran on a single speed wiper motor quite happily at 50 mph.
