Re: Heritage Certificate

Thanks Diffwhine. I paid the £10 to get confirmation that the build date is December '82 so I will be tax & mot exempt this year. So the gamble is, do I pay the extra £50 for the certificate just to get it dismissed by the DVLA, or just suck it up and wait a year....

Re: Heritage Certificate

I think I've answered my own question. According to the British Motor Museum, the heritage certificate is accepted by the DVLA as proof of age.

Heritage Certificate

Is a British Motor Museum Heritage certificate going to have a correct date of manufacture for my lightweight? And if so, is this proof enough for historic tax status? I ask because the date on my V5 is 1983, but the first hand-written entry on my B-card is 4-12-82 which would make it tax exempt fro...

Re: Fitting radiator cowl

Thanks. I'll have a measure over the weekend.

This is what I'm hoping to achieve. It shows a lwt same age as mine (very close number) with the petrol cowl.

Re: Fitting radiator cowl

Thank you Looloo. As far as I can tell from the parts list and the manual everything is "correct". To answer your questions: - Does the radiator correspond to the LWT model? * It's not the orginal radiator, but it's a standard series 3 one. - Is the radiator correctly installed in its bay?...

Fitting radiator cowl

My '82 lightweight has never had, in my ownership, the plastic radiator cowl. After too many silly near misses with a fast rotating fan I thought it might be a good idea to fit one. So, looked up the part number (577342 according to the parts book), found one on ebay. Also paid silly amount for the ...
