Look down the front of the engine at the crankshaft pulley. You should see a metal plate with 3 pointers just above. There is a notch in the pulley rim which is TDC of the No. 1 cylinder. Vacuum cleaner hose has been used by some I have heard. Failing that check out different size pond pump hoses or those at caravan spare suppliers.
All much cheaper and I am sure you will find something that will do the job and still look original.

Welcome to the forum Sandy. Those Pug engines are very good and will give you quite a few more MPG. You will probably need ear defenders though !

This forum can be a bit quiet, but posting up any help you need will always get a reply from the knowledgeable.

I can't answer your question definately, but as you haven't yet had a more knowledgable reply I will chuck my tuppenceworth in: - I would assume that there will be a difference in diameter and tooth spacing between the two. You may have a bleed problem if you cant get any pressure at the pedal or perhaps a failed master cyl. I don't know the exact detail of the Powermaster.
