Hi all,
I’m Sandy, 1975 Series 3 Airportable owner, ex army (26 years) drove Series 3’s to Wolf in service and thoroughly have the bug.
First vehicle was an Airportable at 17, now 51, had a mix of Discovery’s and 110’s since then.
My current Airportable is in a rolling rebuild state, she’s got a 2.5 NA Peugeot diesel fitted and overdrive, currently I’m refitting a split tailgate after removing a side opening tail gate on her from purchase.
Stripped down for the summer including vent panel and tub sides, she’s such fun to drive.
Looking forward to getting advice and inspiration from the knowledge in here.
Thank you all.
Afternoon All!

Welcome to the forum Sandy. Those Pug engines are very good and will give you quite a few more MPG. You will probably need ear defenders though !

Hi Sandy,
Welcome to the forum, Seems that you served around the same time as I did, but I'm just a few years older. I served from 1988 to 2013. Mostly as a 24 callsign. I bought my first Lightweight in 1990 and still have it, although it has changed a bit over the years.
Feel free to post a few pics of your lightweight if you wish to. We like piccies we do. And cake.
Regards,
