Brand new body tubs available

Post by Trickyh » Wed Sep 21, 2022 4:40 pm

Outback Motorcycles and Engineering have just announced on FB that they will have fully built rear tubs available from November at a grand price of £3650.

This is for the lower tub and the two upper sides fully riveted and assembled. Looks like they might be doing kits and spares in the near future as well.

And what is mine worth with an original in immaculate condition (with a few service dents and creases)? :)

I doubt that they will sell many, but it’s good to see that there are others out there making parts for the marque.

Yeah agree. My tub needed repairs but it's hard to see how you'd get anywhere near £3600 paying a fabricator to repair even a bad one. Having said that, they look to be pukka reproductions and this sort of thing isn't cheap to make in small volumes. If you were unlucky enough to have a bad shunt, this could be the difference between your pride & joy going back on the road, or to the scrappy.......

I love that there are people out there making these sorts of things for enthusiasts.
Perhaps it will help save otherwise doomed Lightweights... keeping more of them on the road.
