Yes that is a big concern, that darn stuff attacks just about anything that relates to the classic car world, to be safe even "unleaded compliant" rubber fuel pipe will need to be changed / checked every couple of years, there has been to many fires already...

I personally would go for a good secondhand tank as the resin process i think requires a pretty clean inside to the tank and if there are holes it would not necessarily seal them up. However if you buy a new tank and your not sure of its integrity then this resin stuff has its uses.
Incidentally I am looking for a couple of genuine (or aftermarket) petrol tanks for the LWT so I can get rid of the standard series III tanks with the silly aero caps behind the driver and passenger seats on top of the seat box in the tub section. Its a bloody fiddle about to fill up without sloshing fuel everywhere. If I get a moment I will take a photo and show you what I mean at Newbury.

well I will post some progress pix next, but firstly a question.. Seat boxes.. or should i say seat mounting on seatboxes.

I have a very un satisfactory system, as in, the botton squabs are attached to the boxes by hinges, this means they ony lift abot 4 inches at the front, which make filling up with petrol most interesting.. you get some strange looks as you wedge the seat up and crouch on your hands and knees to fiddle the nozzle in, surely this cannot be correct??

they are apart at the moment, pics below, but there must be a better way...

above seatbox lids (not bolted down at the moment, but you can see the three small holes where the hinges go at the back on the lids (the centre seat is located by 2 large rubber bungs that go through the holes) and the 3 large holes that allow the hinge mount bolts to go through from the hinges when the seat is flat above the bottom of the seat squab with the hinges and aluminium plate.

I can't help with pic of mine as all but one of the seatbase retainers, and the correct tank lids, were missing when I bought the vehicle, but the link below shows the type of seatbase fitting and tank lids that you should have if you scroll down. Just ignore the winterization fitted to the pictured vehicle.
