Thanks, Yes a home made storage box. Just to stop the opportunist thief fro grabbing any tools as they walk by while I'm workingFred wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 9:23 pmInteresting. I have read elsewhere that Craddocks have been struggling a bit with handling orders since they've been coping with the virus. Blanchards are amazing, though - I think they should run enthusiasts visits - like Cadburys do at Bournville where you tour the place and get the chance to buy some stock at the end at a really good price! There you are, Rob - something for the club management to arrange! But the stock they hold is really impressive and, overall, the prices are pretty reasonable.
That's a good looking stowage box you have in the tub, by the way. Home made?

Re: 1969 Air Portable 39FG03
Well my land rover has been off the road for about 6 months now as I haven't had time to work on it. Finally got started two weeks ago. First thing up will be rebuilding the axels and fitting new suspension. I am also fitting zeus disc brakes to the front.
First up is cleaning and rebuilding the rear axle

Also cleaning up the series 2a front to put on it

And my todays purchase a new vice. The one on the left is broken and I still need to fit the new one to my bench

Fitting doors today

Re: 1969 Air Portable 39FG03
You've made a better job of the fit and alignment than Land Rover ever did.

I'll be chickening out on alignment on the Recce project, as it doesn't have doors. But, it took me ages to get mine right when I rebuilt the V8.

Re: 1969 Air Portable 39FG03
Managed to get the seats in the other day

Then had an enforced 2 day rest after drilling a hole in my finger
But today managed to get the wings back on

I had to make the light box up myself as the PO had removed them and fitting some home made box to include the headlight. Not the best but ok from a distance.
Windscreen and wiring up the lights is my next job
