I don't know about beautiul or fantastic, not yet anyway. I think the dash panels and the battery box are about the only bits that I can call 'finished' so far. Lots of work to do yet.

I will build the gearlever back up again once I find a new O-ring for the selector ball, not that that stops me rebuilding it. Someone went and put Christmas in the way of my project time, that's the stopper.

I hope everyone has survived the festive period and found space for all their pressies. I've got a little bit more done to the project since the food fest, fitting work in around all the family commitments.

I rebuilt the main gear lever and housing on Sunday and then removed the layers of paint from the brake and clutch pedals, blasted them back to bare metal, primed and painted them. I then stripped down the heater assembly and started to tart that up. A couple of shots here of how it started for you all to see. Yesterday saw me take a trip to the local blasters with the bulkhead and chassis brackets, radiator panel, front bumper, pedal boxes and the air filter and it's elbow as these are a bit big for my blast cabinet. Hopefully I will get these back soon.

So far on the heater refurb I've blasted the fan impellor clean of rust, but I'm undecided at present whether to paint it or leave it in bare metal with just a coat of lacquer to protect it. The front panel has been stripped of paint, blasted to remove the rust, primed and top coated. The motor itself has been cleaned up and is awaiting a coat of paint, a possible job for tomorrow morning. I've stripped the paint from the outside of the main heater housing, removed the two top plate screws that were snapped so I can weld in replacement bolts, which just leaves me the inside of the casing to remove the paint from before giving it a little tickle in the blaster before repainting that.

As a bonus I found someone selling the springs and catches for the door flaps today, so I've ordered a pair to replace the one missing spring and one damaged catch on one of my heaters flaps.

I've got a little Clarke CSB20B blast cabinet, handy for the smaller bits and peices.
