Hello from France !!

Hello all,
I'm a French-English dual national living in rural France, and I like old Land Rovers, it's a childhood holiday memory thing and now as an adult I'm living parts of certain dreams with a collection of four vehicles in various conditions, some better, some worse, but years of work ahead and a steep learning curve, lots of pleasure, some pains, and more and more determination.
A few days ago I purchased a 1971 late 2A lightweight, LHD, bought in Tunisia on the 1980s by the PO according to whom it is ex Belgian army, which I need to confirm as I like histories and provenance etc...

I bought her non running but engine turns and seems unmolested save for a anti theft system with a simple electrical system protocol to start her.
This morning it took two hours to remove the front right brake drum as it was seized with crud and leaking brake fluid.
I'm confident she'll fire up. What looms ahead is chassis work with rear crossmember and outriggers etc, needing extensive structural work, but I'm keeping the original chassis as it's very much salvageable and has its vehicle number neatly stamped on the right dumb iron, consistent with paperwork and stamping on metal plate on dashboard.
I will certainly have questions during the restoration process, and hope in time I may also be able to advise and share my experience and knowledge.

Hi Opposum, I also live in France and my Lightweight also came from Tanzinere although it was ex Saudi National Guard originally

There should be a plate on the driver side seat, you might find some info there other wsie you can get a british heritage certificate.

Which area of France are you in?
