Deestone 700 x 16 tyres

Whilst searching for suitable 'correct' looking 650 x 16 tyres I discovered that Deestone actually produced a 700 x 16 version of their 750 x 16 Goodyear Hi Miler Xtra Grips clones. The advantages on the 700 over the 750's are;
1, Can be fitted to the original 5 inch rims 231601
2, The speedo will read correct
3, The load on the bonnet will be reduced

However I have only found them on ebay from a dealer in Italy. Does anybody know of a UK source? Thanks Richard

Richard I think you are right to look for a more local source. Looking at his negative feedback of the ones I can read in English a lot of non-deliveries, cancelled orders & language communication problems.

Hi, they are available from the US via a couple of UK companies for about the same price, I'm looking at them as I'm down to my last genuine 6.50 x 16 and as you say they'll work on standard Lightweight rims without having to go to 7.50 D's which a lot of owners have done; not really where I want to go.

I got mine from Italy about 4 years ago and very happy with the delivery of less than a week however I can't tell you who the seller was.

Thanks to Graham for the info, further research tonight has lead me to believe what is advertised is 'indicative' of what you may receive so please disregard my post of yesterday. When I went into the UK sites they were 7.50's, or 7.00 x 15's; my sincere apologies. Yes you can get them in 7.00 x 16 but they are of the STA pattern and I suspect are of Chinese manufacture which is a no no for me. What I believe are genuine STA 6.50 x 16 from the US are available from one UK outlet and have the closest tread pattern to the original Good Year Xtragrip that I can find but at more than double the price. The Italian outlet on gleebay is long established and maybe where Graham got his from so maybe worth purchasing one to see what you get??
The STA option has come up on here before a few years back.
