This type of radio was used by the SAS during ‘Op Nimrod’ (The Iranian Embassy siege) which took place from 30 April to 5 May 1980.

It came with a standard 'fist-mike' as shown in the picture, but during the siege, the radio would have been paired with a ‘Storno’ PTT (Press-To-Transmit), earpiece and throat mike.

The silver disc at the front is the volume control.

I have a charger and parts of another radio in a box somewhere, so will see if I can bring it to life when I find them.

We also used this kit in NI, 1973, Belfast, and later in Crossmaglen then Derry and used for many years on Royal Guard Locations, Buck palace, Jimmie's and TOL
I am sure I have a box full somewhere, also Batteries with Charger, and within a radio group I am am PRO of we have an Ex Director of PYE! Brill
