Replica 2a terminal block

Post by SpaceKook » Mon Apr 29, 2024 7:07 pm

Hello!

I've had to temporarily halt work on my lightweight as we're moving house, so I'm wasting my time on other things.
One thing is a spare terminal block for my lightweight, and I was wondering if anyone else might like one?
It's not an exact replica, and the one pictured is a first draft, I've widened the exterior sides for rigidity by approx 1mm each, and the text is slightly larger so I can read it without my glasses.

Assuming anybody wants one, I offer them for free, including shipping (uk only, unless your name is Simone), in return for answering some questions.
(for a couple weeks only, please don't share on facebook)

1. The material is PLA, so I'd be interested to find out how it lasts in a warm engine bay.
2. How is the fit?
3. Can you tell from a distance, and how obvious is it?
4. Whatdya think?

Thanks,

That looks pretty good, certainly good enough I think, to pass the 2 metre test anyway. Nice to know that you have taken the time and effort to produce an otherwise unobtainable part. If I had a IIA, I would certainly take one off your hands.

Looks really good but I don't understand why you cannot replicate the original size?

Howdy Bob

I can replicate the original size, but for the purposes of a spare for myself I decided to make a more rigid and readable version. If anyone would rather one correct to the mm then resizing it would be trivial.

Thanks for the feedback all

Good evening, and happy Christmas. I'd very much like a terminal block cover. I've got an early S2A LW, 72FG44, chassis number 23600064A. It's missing this elusive component. If you've still got, or can make, one, I'll be eternally grateful. Thank you.

I would love to be able to get one too, more than happy with your slightly larger size though.

Happy to pay and at the very least would insist on covering materials.

Cheers, Dom

Howdy Rob,

Original spec is no problem.
I've put them on ebay with 'best offers' enabled for convenience https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235900610455 .
Feel free to send me an offer for whatever you think it's worth and mention it's you in the little text box.

Cheers,
Sam
