Trying to sort out some light fittings for a project and noticed that the two single filament fittings are different, I’m assuming it depends on fitment - can anyone shed any light on which unit is for which as they both take the same size bulb!

Re: Light fittings
I think the one on the left is a side light unit with a recessed housing so the smaller bulb can be set further back. The one on the right I think is your indicator unit.
Re: Light fittings
Thank you very much for the reply, I think it may be other way round
The one that is set further back (left) is for the larger 21W bulbs as fitted to indicator and fog (if fitted). The one that is set forward (right) is for the smaller 5w side light bulbs.
I would say they were interchangeable, however the problem I have seen is if you fit a smaller bulb to the one that is set further back you need a pair of long nose pliers to remove it.

Re: Light fittings
This is an interesting read because I never knew there was a difference and didn't even notice the different colours in the centre.
Thanks

Re: Light fittings
They are not interchangeable, stop/tails are duel pole plus earth, indicators are single pole plus earth.stuey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 8:59 amThank you very much for the reply, I think it may be other way round
