Back again, every so often my light switch decides to be very stiff sometimes shifting towards solid, others it’s relatively ok. Any thoughts, can it be lubricated with wd40 or similar or is it just tired and probably in need of replacement?
Many thanks Paul
6 way switch
Re: 6 way switch
Underneath (6 o'clock when switch is in off position) there is a little detent button, press in with a suitable small tool and remove the switch knob and lubricate spindle with suitable spray, I suggest not WD40 as its a moisture dispersant, use a release spray then maybe a light 3in1 oil. Refix knob and operate all directions a few times should do it.

Re: 6 way switch
Brilliant thx Bob!
Re: 6 way switch
Hi,
My original 6-way switch had the waterproof black rubber cap = condensation and therefore corrosion.
I removed this cap, disassembled and de-oxidized the whole thing, it worked for a while, then hard to turn again and loose contact.
I installed a new one afterwards for fear of short circuits.
