Picked up a spare set of wings for the defender fleet, was told they were early 90/110 and they weren’t lying it wasn’t until I collected I notice they are fitted with the early FV type headlights :D X! as fitted to the lightweights, now comes time and effort to remove, clean, paint and fit to mine (saves any JC orders)

after first long run for years I have a list of work to do. Needs new front propshaft as splines shot, backlash in rear axle needs assessment. Today's fun job was removing the half shafts. One popped out fine and looks ok (was newish a few 1000 miles back), the other wedged in very tight and needed to be pushed out from the other side. That drive member and shaft all knackered so its back to the suppliers for more parts. Is it a silver lining that all my orders qualify for free postage :?

Took mine for its MOT today which is the first time I've driven it since the last test. It's had to take back seat while my extension was being built - it was blocked in by piles of bricks, skips etc for months. Nice to be back behind the wheel although I was apprehensive that standing around might not have done it much good.

Thankfully all ok and passed without any dramas. But there will be a list of tittivations for next year when I'll hopefully have more time - but of repainting here and there

Cheers

propshaft, knackered rear halfshafts, drive members and flat hubs all swapped for new. Corroded spring u bolt swapped over- hell of a job getting the nuts loose even with tension off the spring.

Hello to all forum members. Nice weather seen the covers come off and the LWT hit the road for first time in about a year. Once again started off the key and run quietly after only a fuel filter change. New seats fitted and all kit tidy up. Just need to replace both windscreens with nice new glass and a few oil changes.

That's looking very tidy, Keith. Love the new seats.
