Is it a giant security lock bar, which attaches your LWT to a piece of the surrounding landscape to stop it getting nicked? :D

Tow Bar, Rigid, Light., to give it it's real name. Although there's not a lot light about it, unless you compare it to Chally 2. More commomnly known as a 'Straight Bar'. (As opposed to a 'Gay Bar' which is something totally different. A song by Electric Six apparently.)
