Parts Diagrams/Numbers

Hi, are there any better parts diagrams, reference material than the green illustrated parts catalogue book as this seems to have large sections missing? I'm particularly interested in the oil cooler assembly and dashboard instruments at the moment. Is the oil temperature cable still available, if so does anyone have the part number handy?

The oil sender is usually a sealed capillary tube with its' own sender and gauge, so needs to be bought as a complete unit. The cheapest that i found was from these guys , but it looks like they are out of stock.

Thanks for the reply. I thought the cable/tube just screwed into the back of the guage as there is a screw fitting on the back. But, once undone it won't pull apart. I just thought it was stuck with corrosion.
Any other parts diagrams, or pictures of the whole oil cooler set up?

The "green book", if you mean by that, the Brooklands repro of the original military illustrated parts catalogue (IPC), has two major drawbacks: it is inaccurate, including some detail from the standard Series drawings for example and, it generally only includes those things which are specific to the Lightweight. You need to use it in conjunction with the standard Series IPC and also the optional parts IPC. It is in the latter that you will find the diagrams of the oil cooler system as that was, of course, an optional extra for standard Land Rovers. There is a second military Lightweight IPC which is printed from the original microfiche which is better than the Brooklands version which is also worth having. Most of these are available online free to download. Have a google and you should find them.
