LRO show Peterbourgh 2018.

Post by the landy man » Tue Oct 02, 2018 6:46 pm

Well 2018 came and went with the blink of the eye :(
A busy year for the club being the 50th anniversary and all.

Peterbourgh was the final show of the year for us,not a military show like all the others, this is a Land Rover show where anything goes, including checker plate,winches,V8's and chrome :o
I noticed a lot more military land rovers in attendance this year so maybe things are changing!

I set off very early Friday morning(3am) to miss the dreaded M25
traffic, arrived on site around 7.30am and was the first of our group to arrive.

Wasn't very busy when I arrived, infact I thought I had got the wrong weekend!

Desided to make myself at home and wait others to arrive. :D The show marshalls thought it was hilarious.

Over the next few hours all attending had arrived,we set about organising the club stand, pitching tents, putting up the camo net fence and dining sheltered, then we had a well earned drink, chat and early night

We had 9 lightweights on the stand for Saturday and Sunday that included David's fantastic gunship!

We even had 'Sankey corner'

Plenty of visitors to the stand over the weekend,I was amazed at how many people had just bought a lightweight and were interested in joining the club.
Saturday night was 'club curry night',prepared by Cliff, stirred by 'Woody' and enjoyed by everyone!
Jess was our DJ. :D

After the curry we all wandered over to watch the winch challenge, unfortunately the seating area was full so couldn't really see much!Managed to get a couple off pictures but we didn't stop long.

Great show and fantastic write-up mate!

Id like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support this year. It's been for me one of the best! not without its challenges mind. Who can forget we set the record for most lightweights ever in one place in private ownership!

Here's to the 2019 show season! :! :! :!
