Re: War & Peace 2018
After a very hot and might I say interesting drive down from Herefordshire with a decidedly indifferent clutch in the heat of last Monday, to be roasted by day and eaten alive at night, a great show, and a fantastic effort by Rob and gang for managing to get the 50 lightweights together for the photo shoot, even if we did sweat a bit having got to 49 and looking for the last "leafer " to arrive.
Great curry, and sorry I missed out on saying good bye to a few, but with a clutch issue still in mind, I wanted to hit the road asap.
All I can say is, great show, great group of people, brilliant line up of lightweights on the stand, all beautifully lined up, and mind the guy ropes Sidders.
Clutch behaved itself on the return journey, so still mystified as to the problem, but home safely with a round trip of some 495 miles under the belt as the lwts first run out.

Hope to catch up with you all in the next few months.
All the best,
Andy

I don't think there was ever any doubt I was a lightweight Richard. I a'm definitely a 2-pint b*llocks talker
Re: War & Peace 2018
Was a great show with great people. Thanks again to the main man Rob and team for allowing me to put up camp p*key hidden under a ton of camo netting!
Its been my no1 goal to make it to W&P and be part of the 50th, and we did that in spades. My total round trip was only 150 miles.. but the Landy didn't miss a beat.
I haven't laughed that much in ages, and am looking forward to the next one immensely. My new milestone is to sort the Landy out a bit more and source a 9x9 tent, so Sidders doesn't take the p*ss as much!

Hi,
Well done to the Club and to everyone who helped to organise and/or take part in the event. A fantastic result and you should all be very proud.
Congratulations Sidders on your award.
Kind regards,
Gordon

Re: War & Peace 2018
It was good to meet some of the other club members on Wednesday and to have a poke round some of their Lightweights. I paid special attention to Landie68’s Land Rover which I had been reading about and Bomber71’s IIA as it is the same as the one I am rebuilding.
However poking around Bomber71’s Lightweight I discovered I am still short of a few parts
- Battery frame (although not sure I want the same type as Bomber71, a black plastic tie!)
- Oil cooler top mountings / spacer
- Bulkhead tie bar from chassis support and L shaped angle bracket
- Plate to mount coil on top of rocker cover
Big thanks to Jono for the driver side wing I came home with.
Next year I will make a conscious effort to come with a Land Rover and stay a couple of nights. I felt slightly guilty given the mileage everyone else had travelled and it was only 50 miles from my house!
