Not seen too many cake photos this year, so, wifey made this the other day, a coffee sponge.

You see..it absolutely MUST have a layer of butter cream separating the two halves...and a nice coating on the top and down the sides....mmmm..

Apparently it should have had walnuts in the butter cream, but I ate them before the cake was made

Is that even a real thing?
