Hi,
Looking for a centre dash panel for an S2A.
Without the brake check rectangular hole.
Now its show season, if anyone comes across one at what they believe is reasonable money I'd appreciate a shout or if someone did buy it I'd defo cough up for the panel plus postage and a few beers for the effort.
Being up here in Scotland, there's not much to come by.
I'll post a pic of one once I find it again.
Wanted - Dash panel without the brake check hole.

Re: Wanted - Dash panel without the brake check hole.
Hi Gaz,
When I got my 2A the dash panel had extra holes in it thanks to various previous owners modifications. I got the extra holes welded up at work and had the panel re powder coated (along with the two side panels). There's some photo's in the 39 FG 70 thread somewhere of the finish.
Might be worth thinking about if you run out of time?
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Wanted - Dash panel without the brake check hole.
Can anyone advise if the pressed panel is the same for civvy and military?
If so welding up the extra holes might be an option.
At least until I blow through a few times and turn it into scrap.

Anyone?
Civvy and Lwt panels pressed the same?
If only the holes I might have a go at welding them up.

I've no idea if they are exactly the same, but there's only 5hrs left on these two

They certainly look like the panel fitted to my '72 Series III
If you get them for a fiver you can blow a hole in one and still have a spare

Re: Wanted - Dash panel without the brake check hole.
Early series 2 panels are different as they are recessed at the top, rather than being proud, I think they changed around 1966 with the introduction of the D suffix, otherwise known as black dash as opposed to body colour dash. These I would say were from the same mould as the lightweight just different holes for different vehicles.
I would have thought that the military series 2a from d suffix on would be have the same dash as the 2a lightweight, the civilian versions would have a big hole in the middle for an ignition switch

Thanks Stu, she's a '70 so I should be ok remodeling the existing panel.
