Was so happy to finally get the seat box off - had to drill virtually every bolt and screw.

..which all brings me up to date.

Today I got the seat box and passenger floor out. Next time I'm hoping to get the other wing off and maybe the rad panel.

PS: The number 193 I found under the reg plate - any ideas?

I know it isnt the Military reg (37FG31)... I had assumed that this was the auction number from when it was cast from the MOD...?

First one to come up with a convincing answer wins a cake..

The top rail isn't worth repairing, you can get a NOS one from Blanchard's for £400 and save yourself a shed load of time to concentrate on all the rest.

Hi Andy,

Good to see that you're getting stuck into the stripdown. I've lost count of how many rusty bolts I've had to defeat, and how many times I've punched a random bit of Lightweight when one snapped.

I'm with Bob on the vent panel, plenty of good NOS items about, more than there are for the SIII. They're a tricky little blighter to repair apparently, not tried to do one yet so no personal experience. I keep looking at the one I took off the Recce with an eye to trying to repair it, but I think I will leave off until the vehicle itself is finished.
