Looks like it might have the infamous preprod style fork ties on the back of the tub.
Still not saying it's real, but definitely interesting.

I've already got two cars I can't drive though so this is just an exercise in self torture.
The first 200 or so production vehicles had the fork ties too.

Re: Lightweight engines

It is nice to fit the engine with all the military spec bits - timing case, water pump, oil filler, sump, starter handle guide etc. My 2a had a civilian engine when I got it, I bought a complete cast / unregistered 109FFR for £40 (yes, forty pounds, fifteen years ago - no-one wanted them!) and dropp...

Re: Steering Box Overhaul

As above. I have stripped many series steering columns over the years and every single one has needed a new inner shaft due to damage of the bearing races. Last one I did I used new inner column with a rebuild kit but replaced all the unbranded loose ball bearings with equivalent FAG / KOYO or simil...

Re: New front prop shaft

I bought a new front from paddocks 12 months ago. It has no rubber gaiter, just rubber seal, and was made in India; previously I have bought them from paddocks and have been GKN ones so was a bit disappointed however, it has no play in the splines and was relatively cheap, and was better than the ol...

Re: Rear Load bed galvanised load protection strips

The guy i brought the tub strips off of has replied and said he is still doing them . His contact details are Phil Jackson and his email address is jacksons2011@hotmail.co.uk Regards Martin Are they not cut down 110 ones as they only have the proper formed end on one end? Whereas the Wolf 90 ones a...

Re: Rear Load bed galvanised load protection strips

As far as I am aware the group buy never happened. I bought a set of five brand new Wolf 90 ones which are zinc plated and are exactly the same dimensions as the lightweight. The only difference in them is two of the seven or eight rivet holes don’t line up so need to drill two holes in floor, didn’...

Re: 2a seat box

What is you front panel like? As everything else can be replaced with new. I rebuilt my 2a twenty something years ago and even back then, before widespread internet parts availability. I purchased two s3 lwt seatboxes, both of which were no better than my 2a one, so I saved my front panel and top pa...

Re: 2A seat box

The angles are all different between lightweight and series seatboxes.

The only difference between a 2a lwt seatbox and s3 lwt seatbox upto 1980ish is the 2a does not have the cutout for the fuel changeover switch in the front face.
