Moving tow hitch

Hi guys
Soon i will be getting a sankey trailer to tow behind my S2a 88" idearly an under slung tow hitch would be ideal but most trailers seem to have the hitches on top of the A frame and some are fitted in the center of the A frame which would work also.
My question is it possible to move a tow hitch fitted on the A frame to the center or even better under the A frame and if so whats involved

Hi Graham,
Just curious as to why you would need to move the overrun damper on the trailer? It could be done, but it would take some surgery depending on the trailer Mark, and whether it has an underframe skid welded on to the front of the A-frame. Then there is the question of adapting the brake pivot/operating linkage so that the damper would apply the trailer brakes when the vehicle slowed under braking. Moving it would also affect how the trailer tows, reacts under braking, and whether it may de-stabilise the towing vehicle under harsh braking.

Yeah its just that most sankey's seem to have the tow hitch fitted on top of the A frame which may probably suit a 109 / Defender but seems pretty high to hook onto an 88" meaning the trailer is facing down towards the landy
