1974 Land Rover Air Portable.
The Time has come to move my Landie on for someone else to use It is wasted just sitting in my Garden.
This Truck has been with the Club for many years and has taken its place on the Club Stand and is well known to the members.
It is (Was) a 1974 24 Volt FFR(VPK) that was cast in 1984. It is on a 1972 reg plate so is Mot and Tax free. I have the DVLA/ British Heritage Certs to prove but I have never had any problem getting the Exempt Tax.
I also have the B Card.
Pros
Good Solid Chassis. Solid Bulkhead, Vent Panel, Outriggers and Rear Cross Member
Runs And Drives like a Landie Should and has Very Sweet Engine.
Had a Replacement Engine albeit many years ago. I have the diagnostic sheet too.
Rebuilt Gearbox by a Land Rover specialist who worked for Land Rover Gearbox Dept Before he was made redundant. Suffix A box but Rebuilt to Suffix D.
Still Not Run in Still Stiff.
Front Heated Windscreens.
Cons.
Paint a bit Flat. I used to use WD40 to give it that shine on the Stand.
Changed the Front Panel in Lock Down. (Thanks Cliff) and I seem to have lost the front Indicators and Ignition Light It Does Charge. Every time I sort it The Wires break somewhere else Was going to replace the wiring Loom.
Doors Don’t shut worth a Dam needs a bit of fettling. Do They ever.
History.
Served with the 2nd Light Infantry. 1975.
2nd Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. 1976?
1st Scots Guards.1980.
1ST Royal Regiment of Fusilers.1984.
All in Northern Ireland.
Asking Forum Members £5.500 Before I put it on other social media.

Sorry to see your selling your lightweight mate, but I guess that if you don't use it,sell it.
A good project, drive and restore project for someone and a good price.
Not having a lightweight doesn't stop you from coming and seeing us at the shows!
Hope we can catch up sometime this year.
