Spade length

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the length of the spade on the tailgate.
I was given one but it appears to be to short by about 6” looking at the pictures.

hi I have one which is Military version from 1985 i.e with the corect broad arrow mark
its aprox 95 cm long

They were shorter than a normal spade/shovel.

Also check the spade angle. I picked one up from Newbury a couple of years ago. Perfect length, but it stuck out too proud from the tailgate.. In the end I modified the bracket as the spade was in perfect nick.

The rivet counters haven't spotted it yet..

I’ll take a photo of the one I have maybe you could tell me if it’s the right one, it fits ok.
