Hello

Can anyone tell me the date the Land Rover badges changes from being metal to plastic?

I'm guessing about 1982/3. Vaguely remember from when I was looking for one years ago that they weren't used for very long.

What has yours got on Steve? I have 57 KB 17. Went into service in September 1983. I know some things changed in October 1983 onward.

There is a lot of demand for those plastic badges. I think they are the same ones used on the very early One Tens at launch, so for restorations, very popular. I sold one recently for a lot more than I expected!

My lwb is from October 83, and has the plastic badge as well. If I remember correctly, 110s came out that month. By my reckoning, they standardised certain items at this time, including the deletion of the front bumperettes, while still retaining the bumpers with holes, and also total elimination of the glass screw in light covers, and using the plastic screw in type. There were other things, such as the Nato plug which was replaced, I think, on Lightweights, with the sprung flap type instead of the removable bung cover type.
