Ok..I give up..what are these..?
Hi all...I have a pair of these..these are obviously 58 pattern attachment straps for the webbing set..can anyone tell me the correct term for these and where or when they would be utilised.?.

I'm not sure, but I have seen them before. I think they're the '44 Pattern (or possibly '58 Pattern) equivalent of the '37 Pattern "Brace Attachments". They were fitted when the individual was to wear webbing without the ammo pouches - such as those wearing pistol holsters and so on. The '58 Pattern holster has a metal loop to take the brace strap, but, I can't remember whether all the '44 Pattern ones did or not. So that's what I think they are, but I may be wrong.

I have seen something very similar for the 58 pattern webbing. It replaces the ammo pouch and allows the braces to be worn without one or both ammo pouches.
