1st digit = colour
7 = Green (not "Army/NATO Green" = A)
2nd digit = finish
2 = Gloss

Re: B CARD DECIPHER
Normally the first character as "0" indicates "multi" coloured, but in the Regulations I have here there is no second character as "0".dodgevince wrote:What is the colour code 00?
There is a note to the effect that colour codes not recorded in this system need not be re-coded. I suspect "00" indicates that the colour code was not available & this is preferred to leaving the entry blank. That's just a guess these are 2002 Regulations I'll see if there is mention of it earlier.

Re: B CARD DECIPHER
Hi Vince,
The first Letter/Number is the colour. O (Zero) being 'Multi'. The second Letter/Number is the finish but I don't have Zero on my list.
The vehicle went from storage in the UK to storage in Holland, then to the 1st Battalion of the Royal Green Jackets, (Light Infantry), then back into storage. It's next unit was 45 Medium Regiment Royal Artillery, not sure what DSD Hamm was, but I think it was another storage depot. Hard to make out the line below but I think it went from there back to Antwerp for disposal.
Hope this helps a bit. Maybe someone else can figure out the full colour code for you.
Regards,

Re: B CARD DECIPHER
I am almost 100% certain I went to Hamm in the mid 80's to pick up Land Rovers from storage for one of the big "winter sales" exercises. I have attached a facebook page reference, which has an aerial view of the camp.
https://www.facebook.com/19985589337985 ... =3&theater
The vehicles were stored in the large hangers. I remember it took a few days to get them all road worthy (flat batteries etc.etc.) The exercise was notable for an edict from on high that all Land Rovers had to have their side windows removed. The idea was that you would be so cold that you couldn't fall asleep, thus reducing the accident numbers. This was in the midst of a German winter. Needless to say, after a week of misery, we went back to Hamm and got all the side windows - if anyone asked we said we were only there for the day, prior to returning to the UK - it seemed to work
