Pictures of vehicles in service
Re: Pictures of vehicles in service
Just found this one in the archive, its been modded latterly with a WIMIK 'type' cage but thought it might be of interest maybe to Gordon.
But how 'in service' its is though is a matter of debate.

Thanks Ant for posting
I wonder when the picture was taken? there weren't supposed to be many DPVs left in existance.

Re: Pictures of vehicles in service
Taken not that long ago judging by the uniform worn, the REME gadger is wearing P.C.S.
S.E.M.E. Bordon had a DPV there when I did my Class 1 trade course in '94, used to see guys from Mobility Troop and 22's L.A.D. there training on them occassionally. Didn't have the cage on them then. Couldn't miss the SAS guys, the black box over there eyes gave them away from a mile off.
There's quite a mix of kit there so I'm wondering if the pic was taken a Bordon?
Regards,

Re: Pictures of vehicles in service
Neil,
Who did the DPV conversions? Was it Marshalls?
It would be good to try and get some drawings, EMERs whatever relevant to display with the vehicle.
if it was Marshall's, i can forget it as they never respond, contacted them about the Recoilless Rifle Gunships a few years back.
See you soon
Gordy

Re: Pictures of vehicles in service
Hi Gordy,
Not sure who carried out the conversions, Marshalls is the most likely.
I have the AESP reference for the DPV, but the AESP's are no longer on our system.
I still intend to go for a trip to the Corps Musuem in the near future, need to see if they have info on my forthcoming project.
I'll see what I can find out while there, I'm sure they'll have a hard copy of the publications.
See you next week mate.

Re: Pictures of vehicles in service
Neil,
Can you let me know the AESP number next week.
If anyone has a copy, it will be Clive Elliot. Clive will probably be at Overlord so i can discuss with him.
Thanks,

I should have it written down somewhere at home, if so I'll bring it with me. If not I've got in my room at camp and will PM it to you when I get back there on the 18th.RT1 wrote:Can you let me know the AESP number next week.

Sounds good to me!RT1 wrote:, beer and curry on Thursday for the consuming of
The AESP octad covering the DPV is AESP 2320-D-121, TRUCK UTILITY, SAS, 4X4, LAND ROVER 110.
Just remembered I had posted it before, brains a bit slow today as it's had to learn new stuff all this week and it's not used to it.
