Upload the pic to my desktop. Open with microsoft office picture manager. Click on Picture in the toolbar, scroll down to Compress Pictures and click on it. A new box should open up on the right of the screen. Click on the option for Compress for Web Pages, then click on okay. The original image should have shrunk. Close down the page and click on Save.
Now when you post on the forum, go to the Attachments box below the dialog box and click on it. A box will appear below saying Add files, click on it. A pop up screen saying File Upload will appear. It should open on Desktop, if that is where your image is, click on the image number. If not, click on the folder your image is in and select it from there. Then click on open.
A box will open below Add file which will have your image reference in it, click on place in line and the image will be attached to your post. You will see something like this appear if you've got it right.

Then just submit the post as normal.
If you're not on Windows, then I haven't a clue, and you're on your own. But, I'm sure someone will be able to help you with any other system.
