Hi Axle, sorry I'm late to the party, a number of us have been sat in a field for 4 days at the Overlord Military spectacular.
Blue is a bit special but it depends on which kind of blue as RAF blue is fairly common but RN blue is very rare. Let us know what happens with the EMLRA searches, they couldn't find anything for me and I had to contact Deepcut RLC museum directly to get my B Card. I can also put you in touch with a chap who might be able to find your Military Registration for a £5 fee. However if it isn't an Army vehicle and is RAF you will need to contact different sources for information. If it is a Navy truck then information is very hard to find.
Great to have you and your Landies on the forum.

Hi Cam, thanks for the info, saw your post about the search, was going to do that but did not spot it was only for Army. When I saw blue I was convinced it was RAF, now you have me thinking again, If I post a picture of the blue bits would you be able to tell from that ?

Post away mate and we will try our best. Can't make any promises but the more pictures you post the more chances of finding distinguishing features. Do you have a chassis number as that "might" give a clue?

It could be RAF, but it's hard to tell from a patch of blue paint.
I didn't know EMLRA could find military registrations from chassis numbers, I last heard they searched the Merlin System, which holds the electronic records. With a date of 1972 I would have thought it would have been on card index. If EMLRA come up blank try Geoff at freemil for a £5 fee he will try and find your military registration number. His website is
http://freemil.co.uk/content/?page_id=37 but it's not very good. You are best off emailing him, he is a really nice chap and has helped a few people find their chassis number for me recently. His email is
freemil@btinternet.co.uk
