Gearbox and axle drain bolts - crush washer?

Post by Foz31 » Thu Sep 18, 2025 3:36 pm

Hi, can you get the crush washer for the gearbox and axle drain bolts? I can get them for all other drain bolts but can only find flat non crushable ones for this biggest size…

Also, I ordered new drain bolts for the axles and they look correct but the thread must be different…are there various options out there? Any one have the correct part number?

Thanks

The crush washer for the early brass type drain plugs on the gearbox, transfer box and axle is Part No. 515559/FRC4809. There are two styles of brass drain plug, one with a raised hex head and the other with a recessed slot. The threads on the two are identical and both use the Part No. 235592 The Lightweight parts list shows Part No. 540870 as being used on the axles. Later vehicles used the recessed 1/2" square drive drain plugs as found on the 90/110 etc...
