So as my exhaust is now blowing like a tugboat, it's time for a change of the front and midsection (I did the box a while back). Any advice on removing the 3 bolts holding the exhaust to the manifold I don't want to just remove the bolt heads - or are they studs and nuts? I was thinking of maybe running the engine to heat things up then wearing thick gloves!

Hi,
If it's original (you can hope!) it will be three studs in the manifold with brass nuts holding the exhaust on, which in theory should undo nicely.
However it might be a bodge (like mine) with a mixture of bolts/studs and mild steel fittings. Your best bet is to soak everything in the release fluid of your choice (cold engine) then try undoing them. I find several 3/8" drive extensions from below is the easiest way to get onto the nuts.

Thanks Chris- I'm afraid there is no brass in sight so socket extensions and a roll around on the ground it is!

Easier than I thought- no shearing of bolt heads ! Getting all back together was a fiddle but if I can do it.......
