Deactivated weapons law
I have a certificated deactivated LMG that cocks and dry fires. It cannot be stripped and I wondered would it be illegal to try and work out how to strip it down if it isn’t modified to be able to fire?

Hi Stu,
Working out how you can get it to strip down is perfectly legal. Doing so may be another matter. Breaking the seal may invalidate the warranty and all that. I have seen weapons where it has been done, and done sympathetically it can be hard to tell. The chances of anyone actually checking the weapon is fairly slim I think.
Out of interest as to it's deactivation specification and what would have been done, what year was the weapon deactivated?
