Rope for Lightweight Canvas

The short rope on my L/w that secures the rear "flap" to the body has frayed.
Can any Member supply one, or advise where to obtain one (none on eBay!).

I think Emoor trim do a replacement rope set but no doubt not cheap given its rope, may do individually.

I have an elasticated thing on mine for ease of use, while the rest of the rope had gone rotten on my ratty second hand tilt so I replaced it with waxed sash window cord, which I had heard some people have used and I happen to have some anyway, and its still going some 10 years later. Depends on how strictly original you want it.

(For me at least), it's the perennial question of originality v cost...!
The waxed window sash sound a good idea (I had thought of using Army bungees fixed together for the "tail-flap).

ah, the originality question, with mine, various departures from originality were all done by RAF including the below . so what is original ?, as LR intended or as used by intended owner ? As always your truck your decision,



I do like the bungy elastic option for ease of detaching rear flap for access. Even better now I have to lower the roof in and out of the garage

Any "official" modifications carried out while the vehicle was in service (in the services) I would regard as "original'.

Mike, cost of renting a garage in London, mmm lets discuss, we are lucky and got a council one in a very secure location. Choice is either newish, purpose built good security with height issues or old one, falling down but may have the height. One not through the council is silly money.

PS I saw a post that you were thinking of selling ? I guess not ?

Many years ago with my 2A Lwt I had to let to let the tyres down to get it in and out the garage.
Fortunately not today.

Sadly not an option, as windscreen only just gets under, there's a door on the garage and a barrier into the block so 50 yards on nearly flat tyres. The inflator would need to be battery operated, do they fill 4x750s these days ? I'm getting good at putting roof up, although in good weather just don't bother. I'm even thinking of taking the doors etc off to buzz around town.
