This is the Girling brake master cylinder off my vehicle that was weeping. As they are unobtainable NOS, I had it remanufactured by these peoplehttp://www.pastparts.co.uk/ who I cannot recommend highly enough, their service and workmanship is excellent and reasonably priced.

Hiya Bob! :D ,

That looks too shiny to fit to a Land Rover. Thanks for sharing the link, it's good to have the details of a place that can refurb the original master cylinders. 8-)

Don't go getting fingerprints on it when you fit it back on the truck mate.

Well, following on, here's a few pics;
I refurbed the servo with a new front end seal as it had to be repainted, no brake fluid internal ingress to the servo as I caught it early and the weep groove was not blocked;

,
Service kit was from Blanchard's, ex-mod Donnington dated 1980, all rubber in vgc despite age, a tad expensive but I cannot bring myself to fit replacement parts.

Well done Bob,

Good performance, respect for the approach to re-use quality originals and good reassembly work in the rules of the art.

Good evening Bob.
Can I ask if the white vacuum piece on the brake servo was replaced. I do require this piece also.

Nice job.

Hi Keith,
You are referring to the non-return valve, part no.18G8953L . No, I did not replace this as the servo, with the exception of the front seal which I thought a bit iffy, was in vgc and working as it should.
The valve is available from Blanchard's.

Bob

I wasn't going to paint it but the surface isn't good enough so looks like I'm going to have to.
That's all for now.
