Moved the lightweight into the new barn with its LR stable mate, together again after being apart for nine months.

The annual poppy appeal kickstarted the festivities and remembrance events today at St Andrews Square Edinburgh. Being cancelled for the past 2 yrs for the obvious, this year saw awesome weather, blue skies and a great public turnout, putting cash in the charity tubs.
The brass band of the royal regiment and pipes and drums of 2 Scots guards gave a fantastic show of dress and music.
My LWT along with 2 other landrovers were the only vehicles on display other than 2 military bikes brought by one of the drivers.

I keep my landrover in a Vehicle shed at an RAF Base, today I went to it to restart after 4/5 weeks, took a while, so pulled out choke, a fraction started, no probs, but even when I pushed the choke back in, the red light stayed on, I gather you know of this issue, is it being in a cold environment for a long time, even in Germany I cannot remember that occurring, can you or anyone help, what do I need to do to confirm I do not have a problem

Stuart I think you will find that the charge warning light still illuminating is just an indication that the battery volts don't yet match the output voltage of the generator. Depending on the state of charge in the batteries, it may be a little while before it extinguishes. Bearing in mind more power is drawn by the starter motor turning over a cold engine as the oil will be more viscous than an engine that has been sat outside on a summer's day, so it will take longer to put that power back into the batteries.

It hasn't been very active on here lately chaps...

I've been doing a lot of looking at mine whilst the rain continues but recently, when weather permits, I have fitted my reconditioned Zenith 36IV carburettor, thanks to Fuggle's Fettling. Also fitted new coil, plugs and distributor along with tidying up the engine bay.

Nice. Was it running a weber before that? Notice any difference in performance? Some say the zenith produces a bit more power.

Well I am new to this and have only had my lightweight since September.
I have fixed an oil leak (rocker cover gasket). Replaced rear brake shoes and replaced all the locks and ignition switch.
Next thing on my list is to source armoured cables from tuaam to radio table.
The list will get bigger I am sure.
