Rutland

Post by removeduser185 » Sun Aug 16, 2020 7:30 pm

Good evening all,

I am now the very pleased and proud owner of a pair of NOS Goodyear Hi-miler Xtragrip 6.50x16s. Spotted on eBay. But... there's always a but, they're in Rutland. Is there anyone living within striking distance who would collect them for me and from whom I could then collect them in due course? I am sure the vendor will want them gone as soon as possible.

Hi Fred,
I'm passing through on a daily basis more or less so can pick them up for you if you like. No problem. Not sure where you live but I can lock them away. Time not an issue.
You can ring me direct if you like 07766912648.
Cheers
Neil

Neil, that is very kind of you, but I have been chatting with the vendor and he has agreed to hold onto them until I can get to him, which will probably be next week now. Living in Wales always makes "collection only " more tricky as so much of the interest in Land Rovers seems to be in the north of England. If I lived in Yorkshire it would be no problem to get anything I wanted! I am now on the lookout for three more! There's no rush, though as the tyres I alady have are good for a few years yet, so it is really just a matter of getting them if I see them at a reasonable price.

Anyway, thanks again for the offer and I hope we bump into each other in the fullness of time.

No problem Fred . Rutland is the centre of my farming operations so if I can help don't fail to give me a shout.
I've a set of Xtra grips for mine which I've taken off at the moment for general tooling around as I feel I need to have a set in case I sell the old girl in the future ( very unlikely  ) and also they are so blummin' noisy they really detract from the enjoyment of driving it. The Avon Rangemasters I have on at moment are completely quiet on the road. Don't look as authentic though granted.
Cheers Neil

I think it is high time the club renewed its photo collection of members' Lightweights. There really are some crackers about at the moment.

Hi Neil,
The joy of these vehicles fitted with their Xtra Grips is the tyre whine, you cannot beat it and any vehicle fitted with them you can hear a mile off :D
Love it for happy days past.
Regards,
Bob
