There were two distinct types of wind proof trousers. Those (with cross belt) were SAS issue, the ones with the normal waist and Velcro were arctic issue.

There were more than two types. Some were called "trousers, combat, windproof", some "trousers, combat, windproof, arctic" and there were variations over a number of years. Never said they were, they were the SAS pattern and went with the SAS patters windproof (without wired hood) I was issued both and at the time they were labelled SAS windproof.
Similarly the SAS Bergan was issued to the Paras.
