Picked up a spare engine today, have been told it’s a 5 bearing but I’ve not looked up engine numbers yet, it was removed from a S3 lightweight of RAF decent, going to be a while until I can strip it down and sort it out so a generous coating of cavity wax prior to storage should keep the rust at bay.

Hi Mash,
366 is a five main bearing block number, for a diesel. Which isn't a major problem as the blocks are the same for petrol and diesel.

Ah ok thanks Neil, guess it was a bit of a bitsa when they rebuilt it in 89, ah well price was too good not to go for it and once rebuilt will make a good spare.
