What's up with the painted fan? I like the idea as it is basically hidden anyway but is hi-vis when the engine is running and the bonnet open.
What colour are they meant to be?

So, as Fred guessed the ‘what’s in the parcel’ earlier, it’s on with the bulkhead repairs..

Today the bulkhead leg arrived. THE BULKHEAD LEG IS HERE!!

(Runs to the top of the house and throws open the windows)

It’s a great copy of the original, only without the rot (which is very thoughtful of the manufacturer)

After a bit of measuring for reference points against both the chassis and the remnants of the rest of the bulkhead, I clamped it up and marked the goal post corner where it needs chopping back a tad more

Before it actually gets welded up, I’ll be checking with a set square, and will also clamp up the fascia repair pieces, to make sure everything is going to align nicely

I painted mine yellow, because I wanted to be sure that anyone sticking their hand in would be able to see it as it is big and strong enough to take a finger off and it runs proud of the shroud. I have seen them for sale on eBay in yellow claimed to be NOS but, that would still be technically wrong for mine as reconditioned military engines were painted duck egg blue all over - including the fan. Out of the factory, I suspect they were black, but I can't honestly remember. Yellow is a nice contrasting colour, it's easy to see, looks smart and adds a bit of detail to the engine bay, but I can't claim it is original.

Makes sense. Now to find a contrasting colour to suit the brown red colour of my 5 bearing block. Like the idea. Let's see what I decide.

I'm thinking limestone or duckegg blue/green as the handbrake drum at the rear of my gearbox is in the 'Preserved' duckegg green as well.
