What have you done to or with your LWT today??
Re: What have you done to or with your LWT today??
Back from a really good day at the Norfolk tank museum for Armourfest show. The museum is home to Guy Martins WW1 replica MK IV tank ‘Deborah II’. They also have many others including centurions, scorpions etc.

I look at all these beautiful lightweights and keep thinking how much work I would need to do to get mine looking anywhere decent. You lot are a credit to historical vehicle restoration. Me I'm a mere beginner. But I'll sort it all out somehow.
Looked to be a very interesting day for you Jono.

Thanks for the kind words
I’m sure you’ll get there with yours, there is loads of help and advice to be had on here, just persevere!
Also yes it was a good and interesting day, I may camp next year for the whole weekend.

Re: What have you done to or with your LWT today??
Hi Jono,
I hope to be at the Peterborough do in September but I have absolutely no idea where it is being held precisely nor what it costs and whether its a weekend do or just a day event. Where can I find out that sort of info please anyone? Is it all listed on this site or do I have to go to another website for the details? Sorry for the dumb ass questions. I can usually find stuff easily but knowing my luck it would be the wrong stuff.
If I can get there (looking very likely) you can all then have a good look over my lightweight beastie and let me know what I need to know and what I need to do to make it presentable. Yes I'll get there with the restoration and upgrading etc and I know it'll take time but that's something I'm a bit short of since I retired. Never stopped doing something and accumulating more work than ever before. Mostly catching up on jobs that should have been done whilst I was working.

Thanks for this. It appears I must book now before 13th August or pay more after tomorrow. I'll get on with it before I forget.

Re: What have you done to or with your LWT today??
Ongoing refurb - gone is the UJ but had to respray the rear of the tub LH top quarter panel as the colour under the UJ was so much lighter, also did the LR badge - 2 weeks or so it'll darken off and match the rest of the tub, the light was also playing on it too so looks brighter than it is being fresh paint. Next to do is removing the tow hitch and getting rid of the ridiculous PO red paint that seems so common these days - should be black or NATO green, period. Always was on our wagons.
