Hi Guys, thanks for the accolade , it's been 2 months in the doing but worth it.
Quick question, spare wheel TP marking on the bonnet, under the center staple or to the left of the wheel on the front of the bonnet, Clive's excellent articles on EMLA make no mention of a position for this, I have seen evidence to the latter under all the paint on bonnet, as mine was but it was PO applied so I am not sure what is correct.

Also Rob for you, what is happening overLRO P'boro or is it going to be MVT Gaydon or both, just wondering?

I got back to trying to track down the fuel gauge problem. I still keep coming back to the gauge itself as everything else seems to be working as it should. I even added an extra earth off the top of the tank sender just in case.

Quite honestly, you have a pretty free hand as different soldiers in different units did it in different ways - I've even seen huge sticky-back plastic numerals used - they look awful, but they are authentic. I'd go for the centre underneath the staple as that is neatest and leaves the sides for other things should you wish to use them - but, less is more as far as getting it to look "right" is concerned. But, as I said, it looks really good.

It is odd. I'm having the same problem with my temp gauges - neither work, but everything is as it should be. I don't know whether the oil temp gauge was working before as the sender was broken but the coolant one was and now isn't - but, I've not changed anything that I can think of. Bloody vehicles, they never give you a moment's peace!

Markings on the vehicle will be minimal, TP's, callsign and formation only, no UJ's or chalk panels - as you rightly state, less is more in getting it right.

Finally binned those stupid parabolics today.. I messed about with caster wedges, but I was only masking the problem rather than fixing it
