Bought a couple of bit's n bob's for the 2a today just waiting for them to come with are a set of stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers for the new galved bulkhead support brackets and a PCL air riveter as I soon want to paint the bulkhead but need to fit the blanking plates where the n/s pedal box would go and when I get round to it I want to replace the cappings on the tub once its been painted so the air riveter should do nicely :D

I ended up going away for the weekend so couldn't test my new riveter but back now and gave it a test today riveting the bulkhead blanking plates on and it was awesome, then I decided on replacing the temporary bulkhead support bracket bolts with Stainless Steel ones :D

My air riveter was my favourite tool until I bought an air ratchet....removing rusted nuts was no longer a problem, if they are that corroded they just shear, but you do have to make sure that the spanner you are holding on the other end doesn't take all the skin off your knuckles!

Haha yeah i've got two air wrenches now a Blue point 520lbs of torque and a newly aquired CP 950 lbs of torque the later just snapt bolts if it won't undo them, both are 1/2" drive, i've seen a 3/8" drive air ratchet i want on ebay that is 100lbs of torque where most are between about 35lbs and 65lbs of torque but will have to get it from the states :)

Had another slight setback over Christmas heard that Syncro gearboxes are no longer doing doing series gearboxes anymore from from 1/1/2019 :o

Anyway managed to find a landy gearbox specialist ( J.Beaumont ) who can rebuild my gearbox and if i buy an H.R.T.C. Kit from Ashcroft they will build and fit it all to my gearbox so that's what i'm doing and today the H.R.T.C. Kit arrived so just need to arange for us to deliver it all and then we can get the job done :D

I'm rebuilding my gearbox with a bearing and seal kit form Syncro gearboxes - do you know why they are stopping and if they will still be selling the parts? Time will tell if my gearbox works when I have finished with it!

I've answered my own question looking at their facebook page

With the new year comes new changes. As of January 2019 we will no longer be building Series 1, 2, 3 and LT95 gearboxes.
We will be focusing our efforts on the later boxes, specifically our ULTRAspec LT230.
We will continue to offer parts for these older Series boxes.
Check out our website for the 'boxes and products on offer at Syncro.
