no no..its not that i don't understand radio waves and specific frequency parameters etc......its merely that I don't WANT to understand..i will leave the technical information to the people who study and execute it...not that I'm not interested in reading the posts on the subject..i just don't have the interest to absorb it.

Sorry to persist with the OT subject but just to expand on what was said earlier by myself & others.

I remember being repeatedly told by someone working in the research department of a very large broadcasting organisation that they were the professionals & I as a mere amateur was wasting my time as rain scatter was occasional & transient & was of no practical value for even amateur communication purposes.

I sent an outline of my activities to a professional magazine that had a page noting the World of Amateur Radio, this extract is courtesy of Wireless World.

Given the amount of rain we have in Carmarthenshire, Clive, perhaps we should all bin OpenReach and go for comms via 10GHz!
