Do any of you know where I can get hold of a rear trailer hitch for my Sankey?
I am gradually returning the trailer to military specification and need to obtain a four bolt pin coupling to go on the back of the trailer.

Hi Arthur,
Sorry, I don't have one spare, but recently on the Bay Of Glee there have been two for sale and went unsold.
Worth watching the Bay.
Regards, Norman.

I'm no expert on Sankeys, but the item at top right in this picture may be what you're after. While it may not be an original Sankey one (I don't know) it may be close enough for now.

Re: Sankey Narrow Track towing bracket
Gentlemen,
I have now managed to purchase a towing hitch for the rear of my narrow track sankey trailer. It is a heavy duty item claimed to be rated for five tons.
Does anyone know what paint colours were used by the army on this hitch. The jaws seem to have some yellow paint whilst the pin is nato green overpainted red.
I am trying to return the sankey to military specification, the body is already nato green.
Any knowledgeable people out there who know the answer?
Regards

It can be: body colour - same as rest of the vehicle, black or red lead as supplied from new or paint-free and greased as was recommended by some military units. But, the last option is a bit messy. It shouldn't be bright red - though many were as lots of bored soldiers with the tin of red paint open on the vehicle park, simply couldn't resist touching up makers' name plates, tow hooks and so on.Arthur James Holl wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2017 12:07 pmGentlemen,
